Bill credit and sending another tech.

Original review posted by user Mar 07, 2018

I am software developer that works from home. I have a duel WAN cisco router that I use with both Mediacom and VDSL. Mediacom being the faster service is appealing to me, but the service is so unreliable.

Every time the seasons change, my service starts to get really bad. This time, my upload speeds dropped to 0.3mbps intermittently. Download speeds were unaffected, but requests were often never making it to servers anyway.

Every time this happens, I have to go through the same song and dance with phone tech support.

I have to go into my comm closet and attach everything directly to a single computer.

Go through everything I already tried.

THEN they check the signal of the modem and say "Oh! I see you do have a signal issue". Well, duh... why didn't we just start there!

Then they schedule a tech to come out DAYS later and I have to take off work.

Tech comes, does some stuff, and leaves.

Of course, that never resolves the issue the first time.

So I have to call tech support back and tell them the tech didn't fix it.

But no! They won't take my word for it. They want to go through the same song and dance again.

NO. I don't have time to do this again!

I called this time to cancel service. Apparently, I have to give them 7 more days of pay for service I won't receive. And I need to drive 60 minutes away to return their gateway in person. How nice for them.

I guess I'll just pay more for the VDSL and go off a single connection.

I might be willing to give Mediacom another try, but THEY need to get in touch with ME.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
