After reporting an outage at my home, Mediacom said the earliest service appointment was in a week. That's bad enough. Now I'm getting an automated call DAILY reminding me of the upcoming appointment (with the usual four hour window.) They seem to get by with treating customers as an imposition since they're essentially monopoly in our area.

On 28th of feb soppose to hook up to mediacom at 4:00pm but did not come out . I was told at Decatur ind office they would be out at 4:00 made a appointment . But mediacom said i have to be here at home between 1pm and 5pm but have to work not happy when no one show upat 4pm so going to cancel if this is the way you treat costumers.

Yikes! If you want cable, phone and or internet please start your own company! It would probably be less hassle! The tech was in my home for over 2 hours!!! Had absolutely NO CLUE what he was doing!!! I missed appointments waiting for him to finish. The tech had horrible body odor and came in and through the house unnecessarily with his snowy boots. I knew I disliked mediaCON for a reason! Smh.

Cable companies created a workaround for that, and Mediacom is a part of the scheme. They are the ONLY cable company in my city (Cox ONLY is offered 1 mile away in adjoining city). You pay their rates, go by their rules, and if you don't like it, you have NO OPTIONS....

When I told him I would try to fix it myself and would cancel my service before I set up another appt with a tech (the last one didn't even show up, and his half assedness cost me right at $1800 in missed time at work) he just said "good luck man". These guys are an absolute joke! Any other business that pulled *** like this wouldn't be paid, and would go out of business and rightfully so. Absolutely ridiculous.
